Xiaotian graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2017. He started his junior residency training in Internal Medicine under the sponsorship of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) in Singapore in 2018. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) in 2020 and was conferred with his Masters of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 2021. In July 2021, he started his senior residency training in the national Dermatology Senior Residency programme. He was appointed as the Chief Resident for the 2023/2024 academic year, and also served on the executive committee for the NHG Residency Council.
He is also passionate about medical education. He was awarded the Junior Doctor Teaching Award in 2020 and 2021 by the National University of Singapore in recognition of his efforts in teaching medical students.
